Welcome to the Sunrise-III Mission Archive and Data Access Portal

Sunrise-III is a balloon-borne solar observatory that obtained high-resolution spectropolarimetric observations of the Sun's atmosphere during it's 6.5-day long journey from Sweden to Canada. This portal serves as the primary access point for researchers and the public to explore and utilize the data collected by the Sunrise-III mission. Here, you can find information on how to access the data, browse available observations, and learn more about the mission's objectives and instruments.

Note: As of now, we are still in the process of reducing the Sunrise-III data and hence the mission archive is incomplete. New data will be made available via the mission archive as soon as it is released from the instrument teams.

All data on this website are freely available to the public. When you publish your work on Sunrise III data, please follow the instructions on the Data use regulations page to properly acknowledge the data and the mission.

The SUSI instrument

The Sunrise UV Spectropolarimeter and Imager (SUSI), covers the wavelength range from 309 nm to 417 nm. The spectrum across most of SUSI’s wavelength range has largely remained underutilized in solar physics so far. The TuMag instrument

The Tunable Magnetograph (TuMag), is a visible-light imaging spectropolarimeter designed to investigate the magnetic and dynamic structure of the photosphere and lower chromosphere. TuMag operates in the wavelength range around 517–525 nm, targeting magnetically sensitive spectral lines of Fe I (525.02 nm, 525.06 nm) and Mg I b₂ (517.3 nm). … read more

The SCIP instrument
